Executive Function Coaching
Shannon has helped hundreds of college students develop the time management, organization, and executive function skills needed to navigate college with greater confidence, less stress, and increased independence.
Meet Your Coach
I bring over 20 years of experience in education, from elementary and special education classrooms to one-on-one academic coaching, and what I've discovered is that the place I make the biggest difference is with college students.
For the past nine years I've worked exclusively as an online executive function coach. My students attend everything from small liberal arts colleges to large state universities, and many have made the leap from academic probation all the way to the Dean's List. If your student is struggling with the transition to college, or just needs more structure and accountability, I'd love to help.
The Process
Every student is different. During our complimentary consultation, we'll discuss your student's strengths, challenges, and goals. Together, we'll explore whether coaching can provide the support and accountability they need to succeed.
A one-on-one Zoom session with your student to map their strengths, weaknesses, and goals. Together we build a personalized coaching plan tailored to exactly how they learn.
We meet weekly for 45โ60 minutes (or twice a week for 30 minutes). Each session reviews assignments, sets goals, and builds skills like time management, note-taking, and self-advocacy.
What We Work On
Students learn how to plan their weeks, manage competing priorities, break large assignments into manageable steps, and create routines that reduce procrastination and last-minute stress.
Students develop practical strategies for keeping track of assignments, deadlines, course materials, and responsibilities while learning to effectively use platforms such as Canvas, Moodle, and other learning management systems.
Students build the foundational skills needed for academic success, including task initiation, prioritization, planning, organization, working memory, self-monitoring, and emotional regulation.
Students learn how to communicate effectively with professors, seek help when needed, access campus resources, and confidently navigate accommodations and academic challenges.

Questions
Executive function coaching is a specialized form of academic support designed to help students improve their organizational, planning, time management, and self-regulation abilities. It focuses on setting goals, prioritizing tasks, and building the sustainable habits that college demands.
Coaching helps students manage their workload more effectively, improve study habits, overcome procrastination, and develop strategies that work for how their brain actually operates. It also builds communication skills and empowers students to advocate for themselves with professors and advisors.
Any college student struggling with organization, time management, planning, or follow-through can benefit, but it's especially valuable for students with ADHD, learning disabilities, or other conditions that impact executive functioning. Students who are in academic jeopardy or navigating their first semester often see the biggest gains.
Sessions are personalized and goal-oriented. We review current assignments, navigate the school's learning management system (Canvas, Moodle, D2L, Blackboard), set priorities for the week ahead, and reflect on what's working. Over time we build repeatable systems rather than just putting out fires.
Initially we meet weekly for 45โ60 minutes, or twice a week for 30-minute sessions. As your student builds skills and confidence, sessions can become less frequent, bi-weekly or monthly, to support increasing independence.
Pricing is discussed during the free initial consultation, where we can find a session structure that fits your student's needs and your family's budget. Reach out to get started, no commitment required.
